The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson announced in a virtual statement on Monday that the English Premier League Football fans will resume Stadium after December 2, 2020. The national lockdown in Britain will end on December 2, 2020, and football fans will be permitted to resume stadium.
However, the permission will not be in total disregard of COVID-19 protocols. “In tiers 1 and 2, spectators of sports and business events would be free to resume inside and outside with capacity limits and social distancing,” Jonson announced.
According to UK Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden on Twitter, 4,000 spectators or 50% capacity limits would be placed in tier-1, dropping to 2,000 or 50 percent for indoor venues, while in tier-2, it will be 2,000 outdoors and 1,000 indoors, or 50 percent capacity.
Further precautionary measures are that Premier League fans will not be allowed to sing, shout or drink alcohol when they finally return to the stadiums.
It was welcome news to the English Premier League as clubs have lost huge revenue in the close door matches.
