I Will Quit Politics In 2023, Says Umahi

Carpeting crossing by Nigerian politicians is not uncommon. Dave Umahi is not the first and may not be the last. The defections have one thing in common: INTEREST.

Whatever that had made Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state defect to APC interests. While addressing Nigerians on the reason why he was leaving PDP to APC, he failed to come up with clear reasons.  However, it is in pursuit of ambition that one develops an interest to be implemented by actions. Now, nothing can explain better why he left PDP till 2023 he has proposed to retire from active politics. Recall he was one of the Igbo leaders that frown at the choice of Mr. Peter Obi as the Vice Presidential candidate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential election.

He told reporters at Abalaliki on Tuesday that it is false he defected to APC for presidential ambition. ”People can write all that they want to write, it is not my business. In 2023, if God permits, I will be quitting politics and I will be very satisfied because the miracles in Ebonyi State may just be the reason I was born in the first place.”  He explained that leaving the PDP was in protest of the alleged injustice by the opposition party against the southeast zone.
