Plane Crash in Iran Killed 176 people

Ukrainian Passenger Plane, Boeing 737 crashed in Iran shortly after taking off from Tehran on Wednesday. The crash killed 176 people.

According to State news agency IRNA,  167 passengers and nine crew members were on board the aircraft operated by Ukraine International Airlines.

Ukrainian airline said in a statement that the crashed Boeing was new, checked two days ago. “…The plane was manufactured in 2016, it was received by the airline directly from the (Boeing) factory. The plane underwent its last planned technical maintenance on January 6, 2020.

In a related report by Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko on Twitter, the Boeing 737 was also carrying 11 Ukrainians, 10 Swedes, four Afghans, three Germans, and three Britons.
