The second term is the dream of many President. Not many in the country and outside gave President Buhari the chance to make it and succeed himself.
Congratulations to him and the Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo. The acting Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Mohammed Tanko supervised the oath taking and swearing in.
Based on the constitution of Nigeria, the highlights of the oath and swearing is based on the constitution.
1. President Buhari accepts to discharge his duties to the best of his abilities
2. He also accept to discharge his duties faithfully and in accordance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the law.
3.All discharge of duties would be for the interest of the sovereignty, integrity, solidarity, well being and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
4.Mohammad Buhari accepts to preserve the fundamental objectives and Directive Principles of state policy contained in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
5. He promised that he would not allow his personal interest to influence in his official conduct or decisions.
The witnesses are the members of the first families including Aisha Buhari and Dolapo Osibanjo
Others present at the swearing-in are prominent Nigerians, diplomats, Presidents of other countries, top government officials and ordinary Nigerians.
