BBC reports for Undercover in West African Universities has led to the suspension of Dr Boniface Igbeneghu by University of Lagos and Foursquare Gospel Church. He tried having a “cold room” experience with an undercover female reporter. According to Kiki Mordi, a female undercover journalist posing as a student and sent by BBC Africa eye was sexually harassed by Dr Igbeneghu as he always does to female students.

All his advances and chats with the female journalist was captured by a secret camera with her.

“Cold Room” according to  Dr Igbeneghu during the undercover mission is a place within the University of Lagos Staff Club where some randy lecturers take female students for sexual pleasure.

Dr Boniface Igbeneghu, a senior lecturer and former sub-dean of the faculty of arts in the University of Lagos is also a pastor in the Foursquare Gospel Church.

According to the video released by BBC African Eye and trending in social media platforms, the man of God offered the undercover journalist a wine after which he asked her to switch off the light in the room and lock the door. When the girl was not willing, Dr Igbeneghu did that himself, what followed after was not clear in the video.

However, on Monday,  October 7, 2019, he was suspended by both the University and the foursquare Gospel for the suspected act.

On the part of the University, he was suspended indefinitely pending when a panel set up to investigate the matter turn in their report.

The Foursquare Gospel Church is a bible believing church suspended him and doesn’t condone such heinous and unscriptural acts among the ministers.
